Hi Bettina,
This is your old student Katherine. I found your website! Very good idea.

I have to comment on your post here. I would stop breastfeeding by 1. I breastfed Oliver until he was a little over 2 and that was a mistake. It was much harder to wean him. I had to go on a 2 week trip in order to break the habit (I had no will power around it, but I was so tired I was at the end of my rope). Same with the co-sleeping.

Even as late as about 6 months ago, he saw me getting out of the shower and said, "is there milk in those?". Me: "No, not any more". O: "I think there is some chocolate milk in the frigerator, let's put that in, so I can drink some."

If I had another baby, I would stop feeing it at 6 months.

Hi Bettina,

Just to let you know, I am in the same boat with Lois - she still wakes a couple of times (at least!) in the night to breast feed. I am also finding it exhausting (we are co-sleeping still) and she'll be one next weekend. Kind of wishing we'd got her in her cot when she was younger but it seems that ship has sailed! Not sure how to make a smooth transition to a full night's sleep. Happy belated b'day to Theo btw!

Always nice to know I'm not alone... I haven't really read any books on baby sleep so I might give that one a try, thanks for the tip!

I'm in the same situation. Baby is 10 months old, and loves the night feeding. It's getting old, but I want her to feed if she needs it for now. Have you read Pantley's "No-Cry Sleep Solution"? I'm not a big adherent to the myriad of books out there, but this one seems to offer lots of good suggestions to make a smooth transition to a full night's sleep.
